Key Responsibilities:

Requirement Gathering and Analysis

• Collaborate with business stakeholders and vendors to understand and document data requirements.

• Perform detailed data analysis to support project initiatives and identify gaps.

• Conduct data mapping exercises between various source and target systems.

• Translate business needs into technical specifications for development teams.

Data Lifecycle Support

• Assist in the development, validation, and testing of data pipelines and workflows.

• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with business rules and governance policies.

• Support end-to-end project lifecycle by providing insights on data trends and anomalies (data analytics).

• Conduct root cause analysis of data issues and work on resolution strategies.

Testing and Quality Assurance

• Participate in data validation and reconciliation activities during system implementations.

• Work closely with QA teams to define test cases and validate expected results.

• Document test findings and track issues to resolution.

Documentation and Communication

• Prepare release notes and technical documentation for system enhancements.

• Create user guides, data dictionaries, and training materials for business users.

• Communicate findings, insights, and recommendations effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

Data Governance and Compliance

• Ensure adherence to data governance policies and regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, and NAIC data regulations.

• Support data security initiatives and follow best practices for handling sensitive information.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as a liaison between IT, business users, and third-party vendors.

• Assist with change management efforts and adoption of data solutions.

• Facilitate discussions on data-driven decision-making across business units.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Analytics or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 3+ years of experience working on teams that building and support modern data repositories (data lake, data warehouse, data lakehouse).

• Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Talend), experience with Microsoft Azure a plus (Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Power BI).

• Proficiency in SQL for data querying, analysis, and reporting.

• Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques (Power BI preferred).

• Experience working with structured and unstructured data across diverse sources.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

• Experience in P&C Commercial Insurance or other insurance domains, including working with insurance data models related to underwriting, claims processing, and policy management.

• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals, Azure Power BI Analyst or equivalent are a plus.

• Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to data (e.g., GDPR, NYDFS, SOC 2, NAIC).

• Exposure to ETL processes and tools, including experience with data integration across enterprise systems.

• Understanding of API interactions using tools such as Postman or SoapUI.

• Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence for managing project work.
