Key Responsibilities
Responsible for supporting Finance Department by ensuring compliance with tax laws, assisting with tax reporting, and performing various tasks related to the preparation of tax returns and the analysis of financial data. Below is a general job description for a Tax Analyst:
Prepare and file various tax returns (Documentary Stamp Tax, Expanded Withholding Tax, Final Withholding Tax, Final Withholding VAT, Value-Added Tax, Income Tax Return)
Ensure timely submission of tax forms and documents in compliance with local and national government.
Assist in managing tax audits, including gathering necessary documentation and responding to audit requests.
Support the preparation of financial reports related to tax liabilities and expenses.
Work with accounting teams to ensure accurate reporting of tax information in financial statements.
Reconcile tax-related accounts to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Tax Research and Analysis:
Research and stay current on tax laws and regulations and advise management on potential impacts.
Analyze business transactions to assess tax implications and ensure compliance with tax codes.
Provide recommendations for tax-saving strategies and help improve tax processes.
- Documentation and Filing:
Maintain organized and accurate records of tax filings and related documentation.
Ensure proper documentation for tax positions taken in company filings to support tax filings in case of audits.
- Support Internal Stakeholders:
Work with other departments, such as finance and legal teams, to provide tax-related advice for business operations.
Assist in the preparation of reports for senior management, detailing tax liabilities, opportunities for tax savings, and compliance status.
Continuously assess and suggest improvements to tax processes and internal controls.
Implement efficient methods for data collection, tax preparation, and compliance.
Required Skills And Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Certifications: CPA is preferred but not required.
Experience: Some experience in tax accounting, tax preparation, or a related field is typically required (1–2 years).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (such as SAP or Oracle).
Knowledge of Tax Laws: Familiarity with tax laws and regulations.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and research complex tax issues.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to work with internal teams and external tax authorities.
Detail-Oriented: Ability to work with complex information, ensuring accuracy in tax filings and reports.
