Job Overview:
Provide actuarial and modeling technical leadership in the Analytics services provided to internal units and clients and supervise, manage and develop the pricing and reserving staff to be a high performance team. Support the attainment of the Company’s goal to be an analytics-driven company.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Develops and recommends the pricing policies and processes of the company for both life and non-life reinsured businesses and is responsible for the implementation of such approved policies and processes.
- Develops and recommends the reserving policies and processes of the company for both life and non-life reinsured businesses and is responsible for the implementation of such approved policies and processes.
- Provides Analytics services to external clients to complement reinsurance services offered by the company
- Compiles and analyzes reinsurance data and other meaningful data on the Company’s operations and prepares reports and recommendations for consideration in Analytics policies and processes
- Presents to Management and other units, where appropriate, results of analysis to ensure that decision-making is guided by emerging statistics and trends on the company’s business and clients’ businesses
- Recommends, validates and maintains the Analytics tools, ensuring that they are used appropriately for Analytics processes and tasks
- Prepares the annual and other periodic work plans of subordinates; establishes and assigns individual performance goals.
- Monitors the progress of work of subordinates and conducts performance reviews periodically and annually.
- Motivates and acts as coach to all subordinates and builds teamwork within the unit.
- Recommends the budget of the Analytics unit and ensures the team functions within approved budget
- Recommends or implements, within approved limits all personnel actions within the unit.
- Approves all administrative matters affecting the unit within limits of authority
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science
- Seven (7) years experience in actuarial or risk work in the insurance industry
- Exposed to presenting reports/analysis at least to middle management
- Have a Fellow designation from the Actuarial Society of the Philippines or its equivalent
- Knowledge requirement: Mathematics, Valuation, Modeling, Pricing, Statistics, RBC, Actuarial
